Tomato Pulao

A hearty rice preparation cooked using rice, aromatic spices and the tang of tomatoes.











Ingredients

  • 7 tomatoes

    4 garlic cloves

    2 green chillies

    1 onion

    2 Tbsp oil

    1 tsp jeera
    1 tsp heeng

    1 tsp peppercorns

    500 gms soaked Rice

Method

Soak rice.

Heat oil in a pan, add jeera,  peppercorns, heeng, chopped onion, garlic & green chillies.

Let it brown.

Now, add tomatoes & cook it till it wilts.

Add soaked rice & water.

Close lid once water has reduced & it just covers the rice.

Let it cook on low flame.

Serve hot, garnished with mint leaves.
Key Ingredients: tomato, garlic, green chillies, onion, oil,cumin seeds, cumin, asafoetida, pepper, rice
